I think its psychological warfare on Black children to ask: “if you could travel back in time, where would you go?” What period in time was it okay to be a Black body? Are you really forcing us to think back before modernity? But i suppose that was the mental escape offered by west coast late 60s/70s afro-centrism, “we come from kings and queens…” But thats fantasy space. Will my children be allowed to answer in fantastical form? If so, bedtime stories will be about the “success” of the Nat Turner Rebellion. surprisingly this question tends to come up on the dating scene… often.
